Highlights from the past week:
On Thursday, we had Kindergarten Orientation as we welcomed in the parents/guardians of the Hardy School class of 2030!
On Friday, we had an all-school meeting led by our Kindergarten students. Kudos to teachers Mrs. Czyryca and Mrs. Berkowitz for preparing students for this assembly.
Last Day of School
The School Committee officially voted to have the last day of school be Thursday, June 13th (half day). To note, Wednesday, June 12th will be a full day.
Assistant Principal/Special Education Team Chair update

Skills Program overview
As many of you know, beginning in the fall of 2024, Hardy will house the Skills program, which serves students with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities who require wrap-around ABA methodology. This program is one of four District-Wide programs that are part of the WPS elementary schools.
On Tuesday, May 21st from 6:00-6:30 PM (directly before the PTO meeting that is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 PM), we will provide an overview of the Skills program. This will take place in the Hardy library and on Zoom (Zoom link to be shared out in next weekend’s newsletter). As part of this overview we will be joined over Zoom by Kristen Stacy, Special Education Department Head, who oversees the Skills program. We will share the actions we have taken to welcome the Skills program to Hardy. We look forward to welcoming the Skills program to Hardy this upcoming year!

Last Book Borrowing for the Year!
As we prepare to pack up our Hardy Library for the big move, we will be working hard to return all books to their places on the shelves and inventory the items. In preparation for that we will be having our last day of book borrowing on THURSDAY MAY 23rd. Students will be able to borrow books until that date and then keep them until MONDAY JUNE 3rd. All books will need to be returned by 6/3 at the latest.
We will continue to send out reminder notices to help families keep track of what is borrowed. If you are not able to find a book, please reach out to Lisa Sheehan and we’ll help to resolve that.
