Hello Hardy
Highlights from the past week:
On Wednesday, we announced that the third grade classes had the most food donations of any grade level at Hardy. These students earned an extra recess. In the afternoon, students sorted these items and they were brought to the Wellesley Food Pantry. Great job Hardy on donating 1,372 food items!
On Friday, we had a School Spirit Day as students wore their Hardy gear or red & black colored clothing to school.
On Saturday, we had the Dedication Ceremony for the new Hardy School. This served as a great celebration of the opening of our beautiful new school!
Turkey Trot – Walk & Bike to School Day
On Tuesday, students are encouraged to walk or bike to school. Thanks to Fitness & Health teacher Mr. Guzzi for planning this event for our school.
Weston Road Parking Lot – Pedestrians & Bike Riders
With the sidewalk now open that runs along the edge of the Weston Road parking lot, all pedestrians and bike riders should use this sidewalk and not ride through the parking lot (especially at dismissal when there is a lot of car traffic in this lot). Thank you for your efforts to make sure our students are safe!
Hero the Husky Visits Hardy Classrooms
As part of our school’s PBIS (positive behavioral intervention & support) plans, students earn paws (red squares with a printed paw) for showing RISE. Classes set targets (example 25 paws) and once they’ve reached this goal, they earn some kind of reward (extra recess, PJ day etc). In an effort to enhance this celebration of class-wide success, each Friday, classes who have hit their target are announced over the PA system as part of morning announcements. In addition, our beloved mascot, Hero the Husky, is now visiting classrooms who hit their target to congratulate the class.
Reminder No School – Monday December 2nd
Following the Thanksgiving holiday, we will have no school on Monday, December 2nd due to a staff professional day.
Special Thanks
On Wednesday, the staff was treated to a delicious lunch that was provided by the second grade parents. On behalf of the staff, thank you!
