Hello Hardy
Highlights from the past week:
On Wednesday, we celebrated Lunar New Year and had a day off from school.
On Friday, we had a School Spirit Day as students wore their Husky gear or red and black clothing to school.

Student Council Update
As shared in a Principal Letter that went out this past fall, we have a newly established Student Council this year. As part of this, 5th grade students are meeting once a week over a one month cycle (with the group of students switching out each month). Students have the opportunity to show agency as they identify a cause tied to some way that they want to improve Hardy. One student group felt the school would benefit from increased visuals in hallways that promoted positive messaging. In turn, students created posters that encouraged our school values of RISE. Another student group felt the system in which classes were called to the lunchline wasn’t fair. In response, students created a system in which designated grade levels have assigned days when they are called into the lunchline first. Hopefully students will develop a sense of accomplishment that by using their voice, they can be changemakers in our world.
Massachusetts Winter Walk & Roll to School
On Wednesday, we will have our Winter Walk & Roll to School Day. Students are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school.
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
