Hello Hardy families,
I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing vacation!
Highlights from the week before vacation:
On Friday, we celebrated Valentine’s Day. Classes did Valentine’s day crafts and activities.
Attention Kindergarten Parents/Guardians
The date of the all-school meeting featuring our Kindergarten students has been changed to May 23rd at 8:45 AM (the original date was May 16th).
School Library Update
Our school librarian Mrs. Perriello has shared the following update:
Our library has been buzzing with excitement as students dive into hands-on learning experiences! Kindergarten, first, and fifth-grade students have been tackling Novel Engineering challenges, where they identify problems in classic stories and develop practical solutions. This unique activity allows students to engage in the engineering design process while reinforcing their literacy skills. Meanwhile, our second, third, and fourth-grade students have been teaming up to explore coding concepts with Dash Robots. These budding programmers are learning to collaborate, problem-solve, and bring their ideas to life through fun, interactive challenges. We’re so proud of the creativity and teamwork our students are showing! If you’re interested in supporting these exciting activities, and the library in general, we’re always looking for parent volunteers to help out in the library. It’s a great way to see the magic of learning in action! If interested, email Mrs. Perriello at: perrielloe@wellesleyps.org.
Timing of School Breakfast Tweak
In an effort to minimize disruption to morning routines in the classroom (where students have been eating breakfast up until this point), starting tomorrow, students who choose to get breakfast will now eat this in the cafeteria in the 8:15-8:25 AM block. Students who do not opt to get breakfast will line up in the gym. At morning drop off, both the exterior cafeteria and gym doors will be open and staff will direct students accordingly. After 8:25 AM, we will stop serving breakfast for arriving students and all students who arrive towards the end of the drop off window will enter into the gym for arrival before being led to classrooms at 8:30 AM. So if your child is planning to access the breakfast option, please plan on having them arrive by 8:25 AM each day.
School Spirit Day
This upcoming Friday we will have our School Spirit Day for the month of February.
Special Thanks
Thanks to the 3rd grade parents for providing staff with a delicious lunch the Wednesday before the vacation. We appreciate your ongoing support!
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours
