Hello Hardy
Highlights from the past week:
On Friday, we had a special student principal of the day, third grader Principal Wang! On Friday, we had also our School Spirit Day for the month of March.
Staffing News
It is with mixed emotions that I share the news that beloved Hardy third grade teacher Mrs. Poole has decided to retire at the end of this school year. Mrs. Poole has served as a teacher at Hardy for 26 years and has taught for 41 years overall. She has served as an amazing asset to our school community! We will find ways to properly recognize Mrs. Poole as she transitions into retirement at the end of the year. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Mrs. Poole and letting her know how grateful we are for her incredible dedication to the Hardy students and school at large!
Reminder- Half Day Tuesday
As a reminder, we’re having a half day (noon time dismissal) on Tuesday due to parent-teacher conferences. We’ll also have our regular half day on Wednesday.
Field Update
We have received many questions about when the field will open. In checking with the construction team and town officials, we have been told that the field will be open in mid to late May. This is later than we initially were told and is tied to some punch list work that needs to happen on the sod and making sure the opening date does not void the warranty that goes along with this sod. We look forward to having the field open for our students for the final weeks of the school year!
No Idling Reminder
As a reminder, in keeping with state law, cars should not be kept on and idling while they are waiting in the driveway loop during pick up. Thank you for your cooperation!
Special Thanks
Thanks to the PTO for providing staff with some tasty snacks this past week.
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
