Hello Hardy
Highlights from the past week:
On Monday, we were “flocked” by a group of flamingos as part of promoting a 5th grade fundraiser that involves flamingos being placed in a person’s lawn.
This week Hardy had our annual Book Fair. As part of this, we had a Family Night on Wednesday. I did a read-aloud for students. A special thanks to parent Jamie Foley for coordinating this event for our community.
On Friday, Classroom Buddies met and enjoyed reading books together and doing activity pages.
School Council Update
The Hardy School Council met this past week. As part of this meeting, we continued our discussion of the book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. We are working with the Wellesley Youth Commission and the Hardy PTO to fund a guest speaker who can come in the fall to speak to the community about child development and tips to support healthy children in our digital age. Stay tuned for more information as this speaker opportunity gets firmed up. We also began to discuss special School Council based initiatives for the 2025-2026 school year. I want to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Council for their service this year which include parents Zhuhua Cai, Maura Renzella, and Dom Lamas. I also want to thank teacher representatives Renee Lilley and Neysa McNamara. Finally, I want to recognize community representative, and former Hardy parent, Adam Meyers.
