Hello Hardy

Highlights from the past week:

On Wednesday, we had a special Creative Arts & Sciences program- the Tanglewood Marionettes. Kindergarten through second grade students saw the production “The Dragon King” and third through fifth grade students saw the production “Perseus and Medusa.”

On Friday students showed off their Hardy Spirit. Also on Friday, fourth grade students participated in a Math-In, in which parents/guardians were invited in to do engaging math activities with students.

Read Across America Week

Read Across America Week, celebrated from March 3rd to 7th, is a nationwide celebration of reading and literacy. Schools across the country celebrate with a variety of activities, and this year Hardy Elementary is excited to take part!

We have a fun-filled week planned to ignite a love for reading in our students. Each day, our students will have the opportunity to learn about new books through our Reading Roundup book talks in their classrooms. Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome a special visitor, Wally, the Green Monster, who will take our students on an interactive reading adventure. We look forward to a week of reading, fun, and learning!

Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character

As part of Read Across America week, we invite students to join in on our “Dress Like a Book Character” Spirit Day on Friday, March 7th. This will be a fantastic way to cap off this special week, as students have the opportunity to express their creativity and connect with their favorite literary characters.

WPS Family STEAM Night

WPS invites families to our second annual Family STEAM Night, Monday, March 10, 2025 from 6:00 – 7:30 at the Hunnewell School Cafeteria.  STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.  We will have STEAM tables and activities set up in which students can participate. These will include, but are not limited to, programming robots, math games, science shadow puppets, novel engineering and more. As a bonus, students from Babson College’s Innovation Lab Weissman Foundry, and our Robotics First Team will join us to showcase some of their amazing work. A light dinner of pizza, veggies, cheese and crackers and water will be provided. Join us for a fun filled and very active evening!

Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
