Fiske Families,The week started with an evening to welcome incoming Kindergarten parents/guardians to Fiske. Kindergarten Teachers, Mrs. Gonzalez and Mrs. Brophy; school psychologist, Mrs. Grossman; school nurse, Mrs. Hindmarsh, and I were excited to share a day in the life of a Fiske Kindergarten student.
Our new student council has been very busy this week. They planned, filmed, and presented a movie on how they use Growth Mindset when learning something new. Some examples included learning music pieces, mastering sports moves, and improving their writing. After the presentation many K-5 students shared how they use Growth Mindset in their lives.
Today was Crazy Hat Day. We saw tall hats, short hats, colorful hats, animal hats, and countless other types of hats. The hats truly showed how creative our Fiske children are! We are in the process of planning our next Fiske spirit days so look for details over the next few weeks.
4G’s South Sudan Water project is moving along. During morning announcements representatives from 4G encourage our students to donate to the cause. Each donor fills out a waterdrop that is displayed in the Fiske main hall. The entire Fiske community is very proud of the 4G students for coordinating this project to help people in South Sudan.
Fiske After School Enrichment ProgramWe are currently working on providing new courses for the Fiske After School Enrichment Program that will begin after April break. Details regarding courses will be coming soon!
The Wellesley Recreation Department will be processing all after school enrichment enrollments. February classes filled up in 1 hour so if you have not taken a course through the Wellesley Recreation Department, please set up an account with them now by calling 781-235-2370.
