Dear Fiske Families,

I hope you are enjoying the snow.  Winter is in full force and extremely cold with the snow, wind and low temperatures. It is our hope to have outdoor recess when the temperatures allow.  When considering outdoor recess we look at both the temperature and the windchill factor.  Please remember to send your child/children to school with hats, mittens, coats, snow pants and boots so they are prepared to go outside in the snow if the temperatures allow. If you are in need of any of these articles of clothing please contact Sara Berenson  at, Sharon Grossman at , or Rachel McGregor at

Parent Event

Last year the entire WPS faculty was able to hear Dr. Steiner-Adair, Clinical and Consulting Psychologist and Research Associate at Harvard Medical School and author of the award winning book, The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family, speak on the impact of technology in our daily lives.  On Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair will visit with our  Fiske 5th grade students to discuss  how technology  impacts our social and emotional wellness.

Dr. Steiner-Adair will also be holding a parent session on the evening of Wednesday, January 10th, 2018  from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the WMS Auditorium. (Our snow date for this event is Thursday, January 11th, 2018.)  At this event,  she will share her observations from the 5th Grade sessions and offer strategies for helping our elementary students navigate the digital world. Please see the two attached documents regarding Dr. Steiner-Adair’s visit.
