Shamrock

Dear Families,

St. Patrick’s Day always make me hopeful that spring is right around the corner.  As I look out my office window there are daffodils slowly coming out of the ground so we must be almost there.

Baseball Glove

Baseball glove collection

You will notice there is a collection box for gently used baseball equipment.  Schofield student, Owen Coggins, is collecting gently used baseball gloves, bats and balls to donate to the Roberto’s Kids organization.  Please help Owen with this wonderful collection.

WPS is  looking for parent input on the new Standards Based Report Card!

The Wellesley Public Schools has been working on revising our current progress report over the past few years and the Standards Based Report Card Committee is now looking for K-5 parents to participate in a Focus Group opportunity for feedback on their work.  Each K-5 school has been asked to send a few representatives to sessions on Wednesday, March 27th at the Wellesley Community Center. Two sessions will be held: 8:30-10:00 a.m. and 6:00-7:30 p.m. (you would only attend one session, not both) If you are interested in representing our school, please email Rachel McGregor at mcgregorr@wellesleyps.org or  PTO President, Megan LeBlanc, at maepli@gmail.com.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Profile of a Graduate

The WPS school district has worked for over two years to develop our Profile of a Graduate?  This work was done with the guidance of Battelle for Kids CEO Ken Kay, administrators, teachers, parents, community members, students and School Committee members. The final draft of the WPS Profile of a Graduate is;

WPS aspires to be a school system that develops the heads, hearts, and hands of its students by inspiring them to:

Think Critically & Solve Problems

● Create & Innovate

● Engage Locally & Globally

● Communicate & Collaborate

● Respect Human Differences & Challenge Inequities

● Attend to their Physical, Social & Emotional Health

As the district moves forward to create a new 5 year strategic plan, the Profile of the Graduate will be at the center of our work.  As we move further into the year be on the lookout in the Friday Fiske News for updates on the strategic plan.
