Hello Hardy Families It looks like spring is finally here!!! Time to enjoy the wonderful weather and what perfect timing with spring break next week.   Hardy students participated in a walk-a-thon to benefit local families that are homeless through Family Promise last Saturday in Natick.  This group of kids, through the community service committee, raised $838 – exceeding their goal of $500.  Thanks to the parents who joined in the Parent Book Group discussing Waking Up White by Debbie Irving. We will start the parent book groups up again next year so if there is a book you think might be interesting to the group let me know.   We are very excited this year that three members of the Hardy Community are running the Boston Marathon for the Friends of Wellesley METCO (FWMI):  Felicia Moran, (Grade 4 Hardy teacher), Anna Garcia-Miller (mom to Kristina in 2nd grade), Jennifer O’Neil Sebaratnam, (mom to Emily in Kindergarten). FWMI is a non-profit organization which sends 158 students from Boston school districts to Wellesley’s elementary (10 METCO students attend Hardy), middle and high schools.  This past Tuesday, my car was broken into in the Hardy parking lot and personal property was taken.  Apparently, this is becoming more and more common. The police have reported an increase of incidents occurring in health clubs, parks, shopping and other parking areas. Please be mindful of any property you leave in your car since that seems to be what they are after.   Have a wonderful spring break! Charlene Cook
