Hello Hardy Families:

I hope everyone enjoyed a restful February vacation. It is nice to be back in our routines.

The Day of Play will take place this Wednesday.  All grade level teams will participate in the Day of Play and each puts their own flavor to it.  All of the children love this day and it has supported the 4C’s and some of the Project Based Learning we have done in grades 3, 4 and 5.

Hardy students are always striving to work harder and do their best.  To recognize their hard work we decided that each month we would set a school-wide goal and have Hardy faculty recognize our students as they see their work in action by handing out links to be added to a display in the gym.  At our last assembly our goal was to work on having our voices off as we walk in the hallways to be respectful and support the learning taking place in the classrooms. We set a goal to have our links reach a certain point in the gym.  We will see if we make our goal by Friday but all signs look pretty good that Hardy students will achieve the goal they set.  We will share our next goal at our assembly this Friday, March 2nd.

We have a Whole School Assembly this Friday, March 2nd at 8:45 a.m. – grade 4 will be hosting.

During the assembly, we will also be learning about the SheBelieves World Soccer Tournament thanks to a suggestion made by Mr. Sebaratnam.  The SheBelieves movement celebrates female athletics and promotes the belief that we can all achieve our dreams with hard work, encouragement and a growth mindset.

To honor the SheBelieves movement started by the US Women’s Soccer team, students are encouraged to wear soccer attire on Hardy School Spirit Day on Friday, March 2nd as well as Wednesday, March 7th, which is the day that the US plays England.  If you do not have soccer attire then Hardy School Spirit wear or red and white will do the trick!

MCAS is fast approaching.  Students in grades 4 and 5 will take the test on iPads and student in grade 3 will take the test on paper for the last time.  Next year all testing will be completed electronically for all grades.
