Hello Hardy Parents,
It doesn’t seem possible but the end of the school year is here. I want to wish everyone a wonderful summer filled with fun family adventures. We look forward to seeing all of our returning families on Wednesday, August 29th, which is a half day. Over the summer you will receive notification about when the parent portal is open so you can update your child’s information. Remember, you will need to do this for each child. Once you do that you will be able to see your child’s teacher assignment.
It is always difficult to say farewell to our grade 5 students but it is also exciting to know that they have new and exciting experiences ahead of them; they will be missed. At the same time, there is excitement about welcoming our incoming kindergarten class and other new families to the Hardy community. Our PTO, room parents and others serve our new families well as they offer many ways to welcome them and engage them in Hardy family/school fun.
Due to declining student enrollment, Hardy will be reduced by one section next year. This means that our homeroom teachers will be reduced by one as well. It is with a very heavy heart that I share with you that our grade 5 teacher, Nancy Bentley will not be with us next year. We are hopeful that another position will open up for her in the district given how amazing and talented she is. Nancy has been with us for three years and during that time her students have benefited from her teaching skills, kind ways, and dedication. I have also heard from many parents about the positive impact she has had on their children. Nancy’s colleagues will miss her a great deal but her contributions to Hardy will always be appreciated.
Staffing and grade levels for next year:
Kindergarten: Trisha Czyryca, Caryn Berkowitz

It has been a wonderful year thanks to the amazing group of students, dedicated and talented faculty and supportive family community. Your support through fundraising, participation in field trips, classroom activities and attending assemblies speaks to how strong the home and school connection is here at Hardy. A huge thank you to the PTO who continually make amazing things happen for our student and entire Hardy community.
It is supposed to be pretty warm on Monday- Please be sure to send your child in with a water bottle.
Have a wonderful summer!
