Hello Hardy families,

Highlights from the past week:
*STEAM week – We had our second week of a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) focus this past week during library classes. Students were given the chance to do a redo of building structurally sound spaghetti towers that could support a marshmallow. According to our librarian Mrs. Sheehan, students did an excellent job at taking their past experiences from building their first towers and applying their learning to building new and improved towers.

First graders working together to build their tower.

*School Spirit Day – On Friday, we had our monthly School Spirit day. It was great to see our students showing their school spirit as proud Hardy Huskies!

Fifth graders showing their Hardy School spirit!

Calendar reminder
As a friendly reminder, Tuesday is a half day (12 noon dismissal) due to parent-teacher conferences.

Dogs on school property
Out of respect for students who might be afraid of dogs, I would ask that adults doing pick up and drop off keep their dogs back away from areas where students are being supervised by staff members during arrival and dismissal. This would include the basketball court/blacktop area during arrival or the area directly outside of the gym doors during dismissal. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Special Thanks
A special thanks goes out to the PTO for providing a delicious lunch for faculty/staff during the first week of conferences this past week!

Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
Principal
