Hello Hardy families,

Highlight from the past week:
In recognition of Veterans Day, Mrs. Sheehan, our librarian, read aloud picture books about Veterans Day to students in library classes.

Photo Retake Day
Our school photo retake day will take place this upcoming Wednesday. Parents/Guardians who wish to have their child(ren)’s photo retaken are asked to return the original photos on Wednesday.

Spirit Days
In an effort to promote joy and a positive school culture, we are planning to have special spirit days throughout the school year (these will be in addition to our School Spirit Days in which students wear their Hardy gear to school). The ideas for these spirit days were generated by our 5th grade students. Kudos to our 5th grade student leaders for planning this for Hardy!

December–  Stuffed animal day – students can bring their favorite stuffed animal to school
January– Pajama day
February– Assigned color day – each grade level will be assigned a specific color to wear
March– Hat day
April– Dress like a favorite book, movie, or tv character
May– Crazy hair day

*The exact dates for these spirit days will be announced in upcoming newsletters.

School Spirit Day
We will continue to also have our Hardy Spirit Days each month. For November, we will have our monthly School Spirit Day this upcoming Friday, November 19th. Students are invited to wear their Hardy gear or red colored clothing to school. Go Huskies!

Blue Ribbon celebration
In recognition of Hardy being designated a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School, we are planning to have a special outdoor ceremony on Friday, December 10th (rain date of December 17th) from 8:40-9:00 AM. This will be held behind the building on the Hardy field. Parents and guardians are invited to stay after drop off and watch this program (as this is a brief program, this will be for standing room only for any parent/guardian attendees). Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to this event.

Have a great week!

Respectfully yours,
Grant Smith
Principal
