Dear Hardy families,
Highlights from the past week:
On Friday, we had a school-wide Pajama Day. This served as the first 5th grade planned Spirit Day of the year.
Proposal for Updating Elementary Redistricting Map
I want to be sure that you are aware that Friday afternoon, the district sent out a message to all families regarding a proposed update to the elementary school redistricting map that was approved in February 2020. Because the redistricting plan was approved by the School Committee so far in advance, there was a commitment to review the map and propose any changes before it is implemented in August 2024.
At Tuesday’s School Committee meeting, the WPS administration will recommend changes in school assignment to areas along the Fiske/Hunnewell boundary line as well as the Bates/Hardy boundary line. The slideshow for the meeting has been posted, and additional detail on the areas of interest can be found here. The meeting agenda is here)
If you would like to provide feedback to the School Committee before an updated map is approved, you may participate in public comment at the January 23 and January 30 meetings, email the School Committee (school_committee@wellesleyps.

Social-Emotional Learning at Hardy- Parent Presentation
Please join Lisa Goodman, Julie McMeamy and me as we share about Social-Emotional Learning at Hardy on Thursday, February 1 at 6:00 PM in the library (there will also be a zoom link for this presentation). As part of this, we will share the SEL building blocks and how we’ve integrated the Second Step Curriculum including the bullying prevention lessons in the classroom. We’ll also have parent resources available.
Report Cards Available on Friday
On Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM, the first term standards-based report cards will be accessible for parents to view on the Powerschool parent portal.
Spirit Day
On Friday, we will have our next School Spirit Day. Students are invited to wear their Husky or Hawks gear to school.
Special Thanks
Thanks to the Kindergarten parents for providing a delicious lunch for staff this past week. We are so grateful for your support in this way!
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
