Hello Hardy
Highlights from the past week:
We celebrated Read Across America week with special book talks in each classroom. We also had special reading related events. On Monday, we had a special visit from Wally, the Red Sox mascot to Hardy, who promoted the importance of reading for students.
On Friday, we had a Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Spirit Day. Also on Friday, Classroom Buddies met for the month of March. Many students completed St. Patrick’s Day coloring or activity pages together.
SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) Update
In conjunction with the National SEL day, which took place on March 3rd, I wanted to share an update on SEL. At Hardy, we have a dedicated SEL block, in which students are learning from the district’s Second Step Curriculum. We also have a daily morning meeting, which is focused on building SEL skills in the context of classroom community. Stay tuned, as we are planning a SEL week, which will include a focus on kindness, that will be coming up soon. Want to learn more about social-emotional learning? Shamrock Shuffle Walk & Roll to School Day
On Wednesday, we will have our monthly Walk & Roll Day. For March, this will be St. Patrick’s Day themed.
Attention First Grade Parents/Guardians
You are invited to our all school meeting this upcoming Friday at 8:45 AM in the cafeteria. This will be led by our first graders.
Have a great week!
Respectfully yours,
