Highlights from the past week:
Second grade classes performed a special play. Kudos to second grade teachers Mrs. Hutchins, Mrs. Lemire, and Mrs. Moran for preparing students for this impressive performance!
Today Hardy was honored in the Wellesley Town Parade for its 100th anniversary. Student representative Molly Foley, her mother Jamie Foley, and I were part of the parade in a special car that was designated for Hardy. It was great to see Hardy families present to cheer on Hardy!
Reminder: Skills Program overview this Tuesday evening
As many of you know, beginning in the fall of 2024, Hardy will house the Skills program, which serves students with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities who require wrap-around ABA methodology. This program is one of four District-Wide programs that are part of the WPS elementary schools. This Tuesday, May 21st from 6:00-6:30 PM (directly before the PTO meeting that is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 PM), we will provide an overview of the Skills program. This will take place in the Hardy library and on Zoom (see link below). As part of this overview we will be joined over Zoom by Kristen Stacy, Special Education Department Head, who oversees the Skills program. We will share the actions we have taken to welcome the Skills program to Hardy. We look forward to welcoming the Skills program to Hardy this upcoming year!

2024-2025 School Year Information
As we look ahead to next year, the district has determined the number of sections per grade level and teacher assignments have been finalized. For Hardy:
Kindergarten (2 sections)
Caryn Berkowitz, Trisha Czyryca
First grade (3 sections)
Renee Lilley, Emily Gnys, and Annie Bresnahan (Annie formerly taught first grade at Hardy, and most recently has been teaching Kindergarten at Upham)
Second grade (3 sections)
Allison Hutchins/Brie Lemire, Felicia Moran, and Dina Maggipinto (Dina comes to us from Upham where she was teaching second grade).
Third grade (3 sections)
Karen Poole, Neysa McNamara, and Joanne Chartier (Joanne comes to us from Upham where she was teaching second grade).
Fourth grade (2 sections)

Fifth grade (2 sections)

Last Book Borrowing for the Year!
As we prepare to pack up our Hardy Library for the big move, we will be working hard to return all books to their places on the shelves and inventory the items. In preparation for that we will be having our last day of book borrowing on THURSDAY MAY 23rd. Students will be able to borrow books until that date and then keep them until MONDAY JUNE 3rd. All books will need to be returned by 6/3 at the latest.
We will continue to send out reminder notices to help families keep track of what is borrowed. If you are not able to find a book, please reach out to Lisa Sheehan and we’ll help to resolve that.

Crazy Hat Day
This upcoming Friday, we will have our next 5th grade planned Spirit Day of the year- Crazy Hat Day. Students are invited to wear a crazy hat to school.
