Dear Hunnewell,
We are just 23 school days away from being in the new Hunnewell. This past Wednesday, I was able to bring a small team of Hunnewell teachers, the guiding coalition, for a tour. This team works with me to plan faculty professional development and establish procedures and protocols for Hunnewell students and staff. They took some pictures that were shared with the children. I thought you might like to see them, too. They are attached below.
On Thursday, February 15th, parents will have the opportunity to tour the school and learn about the arrival and departure procedures. The agenda for the evening is as follows:
6:00 – 6:45: Building Tour for K-2 Parents
6:45 – 7:15: Information Session
7:15 – 8:00: Building Tour for 3-5 Parents
For parents who are unable to attend the meeting, The Insider’s Guide will have all of the information in it and it will be live on our website.
Many have inquired if there are plans to honor Larry Pellegrini in some way in the new building. The Facilities Maintenance Department, David and I are having this conversation, as the School Committee needs to approve any type of memorial. I will certainly keep you posted.
Lastly, we look forward to welcoming Rianne Gibson, the new music teacher at Bates, as our K and 1 music teacher when we return to Hunnewell.
