Dear Hunnewell,

What a great Walk and Roll to School event! Thank you to everyone who showed up to help make it a success! I have a great picture of the Hunnewell Hawk and Mr. Ligon attached below:) Such a great way to start the day!

I also want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. I love my Hunnewell heart necklace and I will wear it with pride for my remaining days as your principal. Thank you to all of the students and families who wrote notes and cards. I have a whole box full of notes that I plan to read through this weekend. Thank you to the PTO for my good luck plant and to all who came out to celebrate our Walk and Roll to school day! If you come by the office you should see the beautiful banner that Ellie Ahonen and Esme Salasovich created for me! It’s one of those touches that makes a school feel like a home!

Speaking of the school feeling more like our home, thank you to Peter Knapp and all the students who painted renditions of our old oak tree. They are hanging in the hallways and in the front office. There is nothing better than having children’s creativity and hard work adorning the hallways! Due to the limitations of Covid, followed by our move into swing space, I am so happy to see Hunnewell come back to life in this new building.

We have some exciting events ahead! Today was a great kick-off for the beginning of the end-of-year events and celebrations of student learning and the teachers’ commitment to our children! It will be awesome!

Sincerely,

Ellen
