Dear Sprague Community,
Our kindergartners have made the transition to full days! Mid-September is upon us already! As you know, our Back to School Night is tomorrow night, Thursday, September 15th from 6:30-8:00 PM. We hope to see you there as teachers explain the grade level curriculum and expectations. There will also be a Principal presentation in the gym in between grade level presentations. The schedule is as follows:
6:30-7:00—Classroom presentations in Grades 3-5
7:05-7:25—Principal Presentation in the Gym
7:30-8:00—Classroom presentations in Grades K-2
Our first Walk to School Day is this Friday, September 16th. If you are new to Sprague, you will see that participation is high. Many students enjoy walking with family members and earning a ‘footie’ charm each month. We will have a Walk to School Day each month to promote physical activity and encourage walking to school when possible. It certainly makes for lighter traffic!
Our new school librarian, Sara Jauniskis sends the following message:
We Need Your Feedback! The Wellesley Public School Elementary Library Teachers would like to hear from you about how to make the Summer Reading List better. Please follow this link to a short survey and thank you! Link: https://goo.gl/forms/K3vMwpENpdqnfARI2
Speaking of Summer Reading, we will have a celebration assembly for Summer Reading on September 23rd. If your child has not sent in a Summer Reading Bingo Card, it is not too late. If you are new to Sprague, you could submit a list of books your child read over the summer. “Sprague-ers” (as we affectionately call students), LOVE to read!!!! Students who submit a log or Bingo card are eligible for a raffle prize!
