Dear Sprague Community,
Winter has officially arrived. The shortest day of the year has passed and from here on in, we should see more light every day. I am fortunate to be at Sprague everyday where your children provide that bright on a daily basis. They light up the days with their smiles, their ‘aha’ moments, their kindness, and their unique personalities. We thank you for sharing them with us. We hope you enjoy the Winter Break and have the opportunity for some fun and relaxation with your children.
Have lots of fun, but don’t forget to have them read too!! That should be fun as well. Please see the December Break Reading Challenge information from Mrs. Jauniskis, our school librarian. Thanks for your support.
All the best in 2017!
Wishing you Peace and Joy,
Susan
Your child should have brought home a reading log for the Sprague School December Break Reading Challenge. Our goal is for Sprague students and staff to read 80,000 minutes total over the 10-day break. If we hit our goal we will have an all-school pajama day.

There will be recognition for:
• The top three classes with highest total minutes
• The class with the highest percentage participation
• The top 10 individual student readers.
Reading logs will be collected after vacation and turned into the library.
What counts as reading?
• Being read to
• Listening to an audio book
• Reading to yourself
• Reading to someone else
• Using Raz-kids
All of these ways to read count toward minutes read. Write them on your recording sheet.
