Dear Sprague Community,
I hope you and your families enjoyed a relaxing April vacation week. We are back at school and ready for some nice spring weather! As of right now, the last of school will be June 20th and it will be a 12:00 dismissal even though it is a Tuesday.
As we approach the end of the school year, there are a few things to know. First of all, we have an outstanding Yearbook and Yearbook volunteers who work tirelessly to put together this special book each year. Every child in the school will receive a Yearbook at the end of the year courtesy of our PTO. It will be full of photos from each grade level and include a class photo of each class. Special thanks go to Yearbook chairs Jen Bowman and Lisa Neighbors. We will also have a spring Family Picnic outdoors on the playground. The tentative date is Thursday, June 8 and we hope to have the “Hearts on Fire” band perform for this ‘bring your own’ event that will begin at 6 PM. The raindate is tentatively scheduled for June 13. Our annual Field Day is scheduled for June 15 with a raindate of June 16. Field Day takes place during the school day. Our PE teacher, Ms. Flitsch organized a wide variety of games and activities and will be looking for parent volunteers to make this day as success as it always is.
If you are planning to move out of Wellesley or out of the Sprague neighborhood, please be sure to let us know in the office. It is helpful to know of moves as soon as possible so we can better plan for next year. There is a release form and an exit form to fill out.
April 27 is Poem in Your Pocket Day! All students are invited to bring a favorite poem to school and keep in their pockets for the day. The idea is to celebrate and share poetry in an informal way. Staff and students can ask each other to casually share a poem in the hallway or in the classroom. Overachievers can put more poems in other pockets if they wish!
Please see the attached list of after school enrichment offerings. You may sign up for classes on the Rec. Trac system.
