Dear Sprague,
Hello. To say it is busy would be an understatement. However, it is energizing to know there is a light at the end of this tunnel, which is our Sprague kids!
Hybrid/RLS Switches
As we work to finalize cohorts and schedules in both our hybrid learning model and in the Remote Learning School, please note the following updates:
-
Any final requests to change your child’s initial placement for SY20-21 (hybrid or RLS) need to be received by September 3rd
-
The next opportunity for any changes between hybrid and the RLS will occur the week of October 5th
-
Please note: a family may request to transfer their child from the hybrid to the RLS at any point during the semester
-
Families should anticipate a 3-4 week transition period before this request can be fully processed and for the transfer to be completed
RLS Parents
-
I am most grateful for your patience with the RLS model
-
I recognize these communications are directed to all of Sprague but specific to the hybrid model
-
The district is actively hiring a principal for the RLS
-
Once this is secure, active communication with flow regarding the RLS model
-
If you have a question, you are encouraged to ask!
School Supply “Toolkits”
-
Please visit the Sprague website as these grade level lists are posted
-
Please remember that our goal with school supplies this year is to create an individual student “toolkit” as to not share class supplies
SEL Check-Ins with Classroom Teachers
-
Monday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 15th
-
These check-ins will be scheduled by the classroom teacher
-
You will begin hearing from the classroom teacher on approximately September 9th
-
Check-ins will be held remotely
-
Goals and objectives of SEL Check-Ins:
-
15 minute check-ins
-
Opportunity for teacher to meet student and parent(s)
-
To begin to develop the important teacher/student relationship
-
A starting point to get to know each other as a person
-
Opportunity to welcome both student/family to the new year!
-
Please note these 15-minute check-ins are not an academic conference nor are they to discuss class routines/procedures and/or health and safety measures
-
Classroom teachers are excited!
Classroom Materials Pick-Up for Remote Learning
-
Knowing classroom instruction begins remotely (September 16th-September 30th), we recognize the need to provide students with classroom materials
-
Classroom teachers are currently preparing these student materials for pick up
-
I am working on the parent pick up plan/schedule for September 14th and 15th – schedule to follow
-
This classroom materials pick up plan is for all students K-5
-
Students in K-2 will be provided a device but will receive this device on October 1st/2nd through the hybrid model
-
Students in 3-5 will receive a device when school materials are picked up on September 14th/15th
-
If you currently have a school loaner from the spring, we ask that this loaner is returned (grades 3-5) when class materials are picked up and individual device is received
-
(K-2) if you are in need of a loaner device to begin the school year, please contact me
September 16th – September 30th
-
All students return to school in a remote setting
September 16th
-
First day of school for all students (RLS students also)
-
