Wishing a Happy New Year to those that celebrate and honor the Chinese New Year! As the holiday comes to climax with Yuan Xiao, or Lantern Festival, on February 5th, we wish everyone peace in the New Year.
Congratulations to approximately 282 Sprague/Hunnewell students for walking/rolling to school during February’s Walk/Roll-to-School Day this past week!
Our regular tradition of Reading Buddies has returned! Please ask your child(ren) about is/her reading buddy….great fun for all!

Second Step Bullying Prevention Lessons

The Sprague/Hunnewell School Psychologist and School Adjustment Counselor will be collaborating on the delivery of bullying prevention lessons in classrooms
-
With the active collaboration and support of the classroom teachers, bullying prevention lessons, followed by continued Social/Emotional support and conversations, will be taking place in the classrooms

Valentine’s Day

Please remember that we respectfully ask that all students receive a Valentine, if you choose to bring Valentines (optional, of course)

We are a no food zone so please do not bring food into the classroom for celebrations, the Valentine card is sufficient

Sprague Parking Lot/Drop-Off Safety

It continues to be brought to my attention that during our morning drop-off routines, safety falls by the wayside, unfortunately
-
Please remember when dropping students off through the morning car line, please pull all the way to the front of the line versus dropping students at the Access Road
-
When driving through the parking lot, please be extra vigilant as there are many students and families choosing to walk to the playground from the parking lot
-
Your support is greatly appreciated as Sprague/Hunnewell School is a busy place both mornings and afternoons

Smart Watches

Since the holidays, we have noticed that many students were gifted a Smart Watch of some kind
-
Unfortunately those Smart Watches are coming into the building/classrooms and then be used actively to text or call parents, for example
-
I please ask that the Smart Watches remain safe and sound at home as they are becoming a distraction to students and student learning
-
Students are always welcome to come to the main office to use the phone, if needed
-
