Proposal for Updating Elementary Redistricting Map
I want to be sure that you are aware that Friday afternoon, the district sent out a message to all families regarding a proposed update to the elementary school redistricting map that was approved in February 2020. Because the redistricting plan was approved by the School Committee so far in advance, there was a commitment to review the map and propose any changes before it is implemented in August 2024.
At Tuesday’s School Committee meeting, the WPS administration will recommend changes in school assignment to areas along the Fiske/Hunnewell boundary line as well as the Bates/Hardy boundary line. The slideshow for the meeting has been posted, and additional detail on the areas of interest can be found here. The meeting agenda is here)
If you would like to provide feedback to the School Committee before an updated map is approved, you may participate in public comment at the January 23 and January 30 meetings, email the School Committee (school_committee@wellesleyps.org), or attend the following public forums:
January 25, 7pm: Redistricting Forum #1, Kingsbury Room, Wellesley Police Station
January 29, 7pm: Redistricting Forum #2, Zoom (Link to Register)
Sprague Annual Safety Training with WPD
-
On Wednesday, January 31st the training will be held beginning at 1:00 pm
-
This training will be held indoors but never do we want students to hear anything that may cause them alarm – therefore asking for the playground to remain empty between the hours of 1:00 to 3:00 pm would be most appreciated
-
As always, it pains me that these training sessions are part of our routines. Having said that, they are also important for awareness, safety, security, and protocols during an emergency event

Sprague PTO Auction Help Needed!
-
All money raised by our Sprague PTO helps to support educational programs to further students hands-on learning. This includes our interactive Creative Arts and Science programming as well as field trips. The PTO’s auction scheduled for Friday, May 17th is a major fundraiser for the PTO and only happens biannually. In order to make a successful event, the PTO needs your help! If you are unsure how you can volunteer, please reach out to Bryanne Tartamella (bryanne.tartamella@gmail.com) and/or Sneha Patel (designsbysneha@gmail.com) and they will work with you based on your availability. It takes a village and Sneha and Bryanne could use more volunteers so please consider donating your time, no matter how small.
