Dear Sprague Community,
We will be closing our play area and school building from 2:00-3:00 PM tomorrow (Oct. 3, 2018) so we may conduct a staff safety training facilitated by the Wellesley Police Department. Thank you for being sure students are not in the area at that time. WCCC after school care will relocate until 3:30 PM.
Elementary Math Curriculum
This year we are implementing the most updated version of Investigations in Number, Data, and Space ~ Investigations 3. This program engages students in problem-solving and making sense of mathematical ideas, learning important mathematical concepts and skills, and developing the habits of minds and ways of thinking of a mathematician. Please see the attached letter for more information and online resources available at home with this curriculum.
DreamBox
Thanks to the PTO, all of our students have access to DreamBox Learning, an online math program that provides engaging mathematics learning and practice opportunities for students. DreamBox emphasizes visual models in learning math and directly supports student understanding of important math ideas and skills. One of its best features is that it adapts to your child’s level of understanding so she or he is engaging in math problems at the right level. We encourage you to consider building in time for your child to use it at home. The attached letter includes information to help you get started.
