Description: The Math Team is open to all students who want to enrich and broaden their experience in mathematical problem solving and mathematical topics not covered in math classes. Math Team members will compete in different math competitions. The Math Team meets one afternoon each week to discuss and practice problems and to explore new topics and interests in mathematics. Description: The Medicine Club aims to further enrich students’ interests in healthcare professions outside of their regular courses. Members hear from guest speakers about career paths, create research projects, and explore a variety of medical fields through fun activities such as suturing and diagnosing the patient. The club will also initiate fundraisers and events throughout the year to support causes advocated for by students.
Description: Join the Wellesley Mental Health Awareness Club on Tuesdays after school in room 409! The Wellesley High School chapter of Mental Health Awareness aims to create a supportive, inclusive, and stigma-free environment for students to learn about and discuss mental health. Our goal is to raise awareness, change the culture around mental health, and provide resources to help students prioritize their mental well-being at WHS. This year, we’ll focus on organizing events and fundraisers that promote mindfulness, partnering with local mental health organizations, and hosting guest speakers who will share valuable insights on maintaining emotional health.
Description: Model U.N. challenges students to look at the world from the perspectives of many countries. Students work with each other and with high school students from around the region to solve the world's crises. WHS Model U.N. typically attends one conference per month November through April and we meet after school prior to each conference to help prepare. It is an excellent way to learn about history, politics and diplomacy.
Description: Music for Society strives to share music with Wellesley High School and the greater Wellesley community by providing performance opportunities to musicians of all levels and genres. Any students non-musicians are welcome as well. They can share their appreciation for music by selecting and assigning repertoire, as well as doing outreach around Wellesley to organize performances. Through holiday performances within the school, elementary school presentations and performances, visits to nursing homes and hospitals, Music for Society hopes to empower students to share their love for music with others.
Description: Musical Theatre Club is a group that meets once a week to collaborate and develop an appreciation for musicals. The aim for the group is to develop a showcase which happens at the end of the school year. Students will have the opportunity to perform solos, duets, trios, and so on.
