Hello Hardy Parents:

All of the Hardy security systems are fully implemented.  These include cameras, prox cards for faculty access, new intercom system and new doors.  One additional part of our overall security and safety planning has to do with engaging our students in an Emergency Drill.  Schofield has been working with the Wellesley Police Department to develop and implement a pilot Emergency Drill.  Gerardo Martinez, the Schofield principal, will be at the School Committee meeting tomorrow night to share how the pilot proceeded.  All of the elementary schools will participate in practice drills during the spring.

We are officially up to 5 snow days as of today.  That means that Wednesday, June 20th is our last day for students.  Even though tomorrow is the first day of spring, we could still experience another snow day so the June 20th date remains tentative. Just as a reminder, students have outside recess when the “real feel” is 21 degrees or higher.  We use one website consistently to determine if the recess is in or out:  https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/wellesley-ma/02482/current-weather/338688

At our last assembly, it was revealed that we achieved our school-wide goal for walking in the halls with voices off to show respect to all of the classrooms.  I am very proud of our students and they certainly were excited to know that they reached their goal.  We have set a new goal and our students are earning links for our chain of achievement for following directions the first time.  We are off to a great start and I hope we are able to celebrate the achievement of our second school-wide goal during our April 6th Whole School Assembly.

Our Lunch/Recess monitor Mrs. Jenny Lee is on a leave of absence until May 21.  We are fortunate to have Mr. D. (Dobos) covering for her in her absence.
