Dear Sprague Community,
I am sure you have heard that our Family Picnic has been postponed until tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th from 6-8 PM. The indoor space (gym and cafeteria) will be available should the weather become a concern. There will be a band and the great company of other Sprague families!
Walk to School Day
We had our last Walk to School day of the year today! There were 235 students who walked to school! I joined the group from the neighborhood that has the longest walk and it was a lively and energetic bunch! Many thanks to Ms. Flistch for promoting the monthly Walk to School Days! She has a team of volunteers who help check students in and organize all aspects of the days. I love seeing all the ‘footie’ charms on our walkers!
Spring Book Fair at Wellesley Books
Families will be able to purchase books at Wellesley Books from June 9-11 and have a portion of the proceeds benefit our school. Please consider buying some summer reading books during this time. The PTO will send coupons home and Sprague will receive 20% of your purchase price back.
Are you moving?
If you are leaving Sprague, please be sure to let us know as soon as you can. Families whose children will be transferring to other districts must come in and sign a release form so we may send the records to the new school.
Progress Reports
Written Progress Reports will be sent home with students on the last day of school. Families will receive notification of class assignments for the 2016-2017 school year during the summer, usually by the second week in August.
Retirements
We have two retirements to announce! Our library teacher, Mrs. Mandel will be retiring at the end of the school year in June. Mrs. Mandel has been at Sprague since it opened in 2002! She LOVES helping student connect with a good book! We will surely miss her! Our Occupational Therapist, Mrs. Zelermeyer, is also retiring at the end of the school year. She can often be found helping students with motor skills, but it always looks like fun! We wish them both the very best as they move to the next chapter in their lives!
