Dear Sprague Community,

It’s getting colder now and our Lost and Found area has grown! Come take a look if your child has lost any items. As it gets colder, we’d like to remind families that students should come to school dressed for the weather and be ready to play outdoors. Students must wear a warm jacket out to play when the temperature drops. We recommend writing your child’s name in jackets, lunch boxes, backpacks, and other items so we can get them back to you if they are misplaced. Students go out to recess two times every day providing the temperature is 20 degrees or higher and it is not rainy, wet, or slippery outside.

Fence

You may have noticed we have a new fence that extends the pre-existing fence in our parking area. This was added to limit access to areas where crossing seems dangerous. We’d like to thank you for your efforts in crossing on our marked crosswalks even when they are not the most convenient way to get to your car. Please also remember to park in marked spaces in our lot. When cars are left near traffic islands or the edge of areas, visibility is compromised for other drivers and this can make walking to your car more dangerous. Thanks for your help.

PTO Directory

The Sprague PTO online directory is live.  You can log in now to view your contact information as well as to find other families or to view your child’s class lists.  To view a specific grade or class, start at “Directory Search” on the top navigation bar.  Then click ‘Students and Classes’ and then select the grade or specific class you are looking for.  You can also print class lists or grade lists by clicking on the Print link at the top navigation bar.  Here’s the link to access the directory: Http://myschoolanywhere.com/admin-home.a5w   Click ‘Forgot your password?’ if you need to reset your password.  You can always get to the directory from SpragueSchool.org or by downloading the MySchoolAnywhere mobile app.

Upgrades

The school security package upgrades are almost finished. We expect that the card entry system for staff will be operational by the second week in December. We also expect that the security cameras will be operational at that time as well. You can expect to see the signage installed before that time due to the contractor’s schedule, but the video cameras will not be in use before Dec. 8th at the earliest. The new paging system has been installed. If you are in the school at 8:35, you may hear the new alert sound before an announcement. Our phone systems will be linked to the paging system by December as well. You may have noticed that we now have 2 morning bells: one at 8:25 to line up and one at 8:30 indicating the start of the school day. Students are expected to be in class by 8:30, so please plan to drop off a little earlier as the weather gets colder. We tend to see a very large increase in the number of cars at drop off in cold or inclement weather. This means it will take longer to get through the drop off line.
