Dear Sprague Community,
For those who are new to Sprague, you are all invited to be here for the 5th grade Clap Out on the last day at 11:50 AM. (We have a 12:00 dismissal on June 20, our last day.) Students line the hallways to clap and high five all the fifth graders as they take one last lap around the Sprague hallways. We also have a fun assembly on the last day with a slide show from Field Day and a special Summer Reading Video from our teachers! Don’t forget to check out the Summer Reading blog on the library site!

Please also consider having your child use Dreambox to support math concepts during the summer. See the Summer Dreambox letter below:

The end of the school year always brings changes. Some are welcome and some are more bittersweet. We love to see our 5th graders move on to the Middle School with confidence, yet we know we will miss them here at Sprague. We had our Farewell Assembly this morning to honor those 5th graders and their families. Many families have their last child in 5th grade, so we’d like to send a special thank you to them for their support throughout their years at Sprague. We are so fortunate to have supportive families who are generous with their time and energy in support of our school.
You all know that our nurse, Sharon Kahn is retiring. We will welcome Christine Babicz as our nurse in August. Another change is that kindergarten teacher Katie Bender will be moving on to the High School to teach Child Development classes and supervise parts of the Child Lab Program. Katie is making this move because the position is a part time position that allows her more time with her daughters at home. She has loved every minute teaching at Sprague and we will surely miss her smile and contagious energy. I will keep you posted about staffing changes and additions mid summer.
We hope to see many of you for the Clap Out to send off our 5th graders tomorrow at 11:50 AM. Wishing you all a wonderful summer full of fun, friends, time with your families and children, books, and the outdoors!!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us this year!
