Dear Sprague Community,

It’s Book Fair week at Sprague!

We have an impressive selection of books here. Come on down and shop for the holidays or shop for great books right now. Many thanks to our Book Fair coordinators, Matt McKay, Andrea Doglioli, and Jen Fallon. The Book Fair is open Wednesday and Thursday this week.

We had a fun Fall Festival last Wednesday. Thanks to festival chairs, Melissa Coyle and Allison Scialabba.

Please see message below from our Garden Committee…

Sprague Garden Spruce Up!

Now the weather is getting colder, and it’s time to get the garden beds to rest for the winter. In order to do that, we need to get rid of everything out of the beds to avoid unwanted creatures during the winter, and the garden needs your help again.

Date: Sat, Nov. 3rd, (Rain date: Sun, Nov. 18)

Time: 9 –  11am

What to bring: garden gloves

I know life is busy and it’s Saturday. So whatever time you can spare, we really appreciate it. Even though you cannot stay but have 10 min to do a dump run, that would be great too!

We will be digging out all the old plants out of dirt, so kids will definitely have fun with it ;).  Don’t forget to bring a pair of garden gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty!

We will have donuts and cookies, and coffee for adults.  Please bring your own bottle of water. Feel free to forward this email to your friends and neighbors. All are welcome! Looking forward to your RSVP!

Best,

Tomoe Harrison (Green Team)

Parent-Teacher Conference Time

It’s also Parent-Teacher Conference time. This is the time to have discussion about how your child is progressing in school. Teachers prepare to discuss academics, work habits, and social and emotional learning in school. Our teachers know your child well at this point and are here to share their insights in person with you (by appointment) on Oct. 31, Nov. 6, and Nov. 7 in the afternoon hours. All 3 days are early release days—2 regular Wednesday 12:00 dismissals and one Tuesday 12:00 dismissal day (Nov. 6).

Written progress reports will be sent home in January and June.

Reminders

  • Please be sure to cross using our crosswalks. This is for the safety of all. Students and parents should not cross into the parking lot near the playground entrance. There are 2 crosswalks: one in front of the school and one to the far end of the lot nearest the DPW garage. Thank you for your help keeping our students safe.
  • WCCC has a new doorbell entry system for after school hours. This doorbell is located near the Atrium entrance and is for WCCC use exclusively. If you are seeking entry to Sprague, please use the front entrance, ring the bell, and check in with Lisa in the office. The front door is manned from 8:00-4:00 each day. After 4 PM, there is no building access except for WCCC pick ups. Students should only re-enter the school building after dismissal if they are accompanied by an adult. Thank you for your support.
