Dear Sprague Community—April 3, 2019

From the wear and tear on our doorbell, I’d say most parents had the chance to come talk with their child’s teacher for a Parent-Teacher conference. This is so important and we appreciate the time parents take to come in to hear about their child’s progress in both academics and in social situations. We are proud of our students and proud of the strong instruction students receive in the classroom. I consistently hear how well our teachers know our students and how much that matters in their learning. Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up in May, so we can all be sure to remember to send a note of gratitude to a teacher.

Our After-School Enrichment classes have been very successful. I am attaching one more offering. It is not too late to sign up for this class.

MCAS testing begins tomorrow with Grade 4 ELA. As always, arriving to school on time is important. On MCAS days, it is particularly important, so that students do not miss important instructions. This year, all students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will take the online MCAS tests in English Language Arts and Math. 5thgraders also take a Science MCAS test. The testing schedule is listed below and has not changed since we began sharing it in January. If your child is in a testing grade and is absent on the test day, we will arrange a make-up testing time for them during a subsequent school day. MCAS tests are untimed, so students may take as much time as they need. Typically, most students finish a test in 60-90 minutes.
