Dear Sprague,

Hello.  Me again….

Me again here to remind you that it is acceptable to be shocked yet not surprised by today’s extended school closure.

Me again here to remind you that it is human to feel disappointed but perhaps relieved by today’s extended closure.

Me again here to remind you that it is common to feel sad by today’s extended closure.

Me again here to remind you that it is necessary that we support each other as a Sprague family.  We got this!

As a result of Governor Baker’s announcement on the closure of Massachusetts’ schools for the remainder of the year, we continue to ride the roller coaster of emotions.  As a result, our list of questions seems insurmountable such as student preparedness for the next grade level, fifth-grade graduation, lost experiences, and a myriad of other missed opportunities.  I am here to say that the collaboration and planning continues in order to address the infinite list of questions that have now surfaced.  Some difficult decisions will be faced, but each topic will get the care and attention it deserves.  Please hold tight and know that together, we will persevere.

In the face of today’s announcement, the silver lining that I found in the decision’s midst was that this affords us the opportunity of continued strength, compassion, and support of each other as a Sprague family.  For that, I am grateful.

I look forward to next week’s planned Principal Coffees!

When you are able to, please share the following message with your child(ren)/our students as it speaks directly to today’s school closure announcement.
