Dear Sprague Families,

It was sheer joy to see our students back and in their classroom seats!  Welcome back, students.  We have plenty to accomplish as we begin this new year.

On Wednesday, Sprague had approximately 185 students brave the elements and enjoy a brisk walk to school.  Go, Sprague!

Despite the challenges of a surge upon our return, I am thankful for the support of our larger Sprague community when it comes to proactive communication, understanding, and teamwork.  I am always proud of the Sprague staff as each is present, ready to teach and support, and happy to be in school and with students.

Here’s to a happy, healthy, and productive 2022 for all!

No School

  • In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, school will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022

Covid Update

  • Several positive cases were identified as a result of Tuesday’s (1/4/22) surveillance testing

  • Those cases were identified and protocols enacted

  • Direct communication has been made with necessary families regarding student return, negative PCR test results, and symptom-free reminders for return

  • Please remember our consistent practices are in place, which include mask wearing, social distancing, and extra vigilance

  • Please know that we remain indoors for lunch due to winter conditions – being in the gym allows us extra space for distancing beyond the 6 foot requirement

  • Thank you for your vigilance and continued conversations with students at home about safety, proper mask wearing protocols, and social distancing are always helpful and appreciated!

Surveillance Testing – Tuesdays

  • Surveillance testing resumed on Tuesday, January 4, 2022

  • Surveillance testing will continue weekly on Tuesdays

Snow Clothing

  • First snow day!

  • Now that there is snow on the ground, please have students come to school with boots, please

  • Nothing would make us happier than to see kids do what they do best in the snow, play and build! – Please send in snow pants and other snow gear in order to build and play in the snow

  • Thank you!

Standards-Based Report Cards (SBRC)

Substitute Teachers and Crossing Guards Needed

  • Calling all substitute teachers (we prefer to use the term guest teachers)!

  • WPS is in need of guest teachers to support classrooms

  • If interested, please contact WPS Human Resource Department

  • Crossing Guards needed!

  • Our Oak Street crossing guard remains vacant

  • If interested, please contact Kathy Poirier, WPD

Safe Driving

  • Knowing many crossings remain vacant, we continue to ask for your vigilance while driving during school hours

  • Safety is always appreciated!
