Dear Sprague Community,

Special days like Valentine’s Day provide an opportunity for us to share and give of ourselves. Sometimes a friendly smile or a kind word can make someone’s day. Children LOVE to give cards on Valentine’s Day as an expression of friendship. It is one of those days in an elementary school where the written word elevates everyone’s mood and giving is more important than receiving. Kids are so excited to see how their classmates will like the cards they give. No one is looking for a gift and it is not a competition. It’s just a way to be friendly and kind. LOVE Valentine’s Day! The Sprague HEART is everywhere!

Our custodial staff has been paying extra attention to the cleaning of door handles and surfaces in an effort to maintain a clean school with as few germs as possible. It has been a tough flu season, so our school nursing department head, Linda Corridan, is passing along the following letter with guidance. #1 on the list is hand washing. Also very high on the list….asking students to cover their mouths with an elbow if they cough or sneeze. Read on….
