This past Saturday was the State Chapter of the Mathcounts National Math Competition, and there were two Wellesley Middle School students who competed at the State level.  Bright Zhang (grade 8) scored 10th place for the State. Max Wang (grade 6) also scored in the top 20 for the State. Congratulations to both of them for representing WMS and for an outstanding job.

The winners of last week’s Black History Month trivia are Krish Mehta of Advisory 230 and Chase Moses of Advisory 230. Krish and Mehta please come to the main office to claim your prize. Thanks again to everyone who made guesses this month.

Ms. Speed is excited to announce auditions for the spring play, Soundscapes! Auditions are a few weeks away, so time to start planning. Visit the bulletin board outside the Drama room or speak to Ms. Speed to learn what to prepare and how to sign up. And don’t forget, the winter musical performances are coming up too! Performances of The Drowsy Chaperone, Jr. are on Thursday, March 20 at 4:30, Friday, March 21 at 7:00, and Saturday, March 22 at 2:00 and at 7:00. There’s only one cast for this show. The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today.  The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcement for their departure from WMS.​​​​​​​
