If students who are fasting for Ramadan would like an alternative space during lunch that is not the cafeteria, you are welcome to come to the following rooms:

Grade 6 – Room 323

Grade 7 – Room 222

Grade 8 – Room 207

Last week’s winner of Black History Month Trivia is Mandela Mendes Monteiro from Advisory 223.  Please come to the office to collect your prize. Today’s question will test your memory of our MLK Jr. assembly and the question is: What did Mahalia Jackson say to Martin Luther King Jr. during his speech? If you think you know the answer, come down to the main office to make your guess. Stay tuned tomorrow for the answer and a new question.

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Lunar New Year Trivia!  This year’s winners are:

• For 6th grade, Advisory 309

• For 7th grade, we have a tie between Advisories 222 and 338

• For the 8th grade, Advisories 207 and 203 were also tied

All of our winners had perfect scores!  We also had a correction to the question about what can be considered unlucky during the New Year season, the answer is also haircuts. We wish everyone a very happy Lunar New Year.

Science Olympiad practice this week is rescheduled to Thursday after school in the Makerspaces. 

Due to the current conditions, there will be no passing through the courtyards today during  transitions or at lunch. Please stay in the building for the remainder of the day.  Also please proceed with caution when leaving school at dismissal. The custodians did their best to clear the snow and salt the sidewalks, but we still need you to find the safest pathways. On that note, if you see a custodian, please thank them for their time and energy in preparing our school to start today. It was quite a storm, and it was no small task. Thank you to Mr. Barisano and his team for all their hard work. To all Advisors, please be prepared to show our video today on our Universal Bathroom Pass System. The video can be found in our Faculty Google Classroom under “classwork” and “important information for right now.” The plan will start tomorrow, so all students and staff should be aware of what is happening. In advance, I thank you for your support in this effort. 

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today.  The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.
