* WMS is closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. Please remember to bring home everything you
need to have or work on during the long weekend.
*Attention students: Please be sure to lock your lockers. If you are purchasing a lock this weekend, please purchase a regular size lock.
Large locks will be hard to open and won’t fit the lockers.
*Cross Country team information will be provided to all interested students on Tuesday during your lunch times. All students are invited to attend.
The first cross country practice will be on Monday, September 9th.
*Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating tonight? Tonight begins the Muslim holiday of Al-hijra.
In the Islamic religion, Al-Hijra – the New Year – is celebrated on the first day of Muharram, the month in which Muhammad emigrated from Mecca
to Medina in 622 CE (the Hijra). The holiday is also known simply as Muharram. It is especially important to Shiite Moslems, and is celebrated in different
ways by Moslems around the world.
There are students at WMS who will be observing this holiday. We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, Happy New Year!
