~Day 4

All students who signed up for the SPRING session of Dungeons and Dragons. Please check your email for a message from Ms. Cohen.  Please read and respond to the email ASAP.  If you did not receive an email and believe that you signed up for Spring Dungeons and Dragons, please reach out to Ms. Cohen before Monday’s session.

As a reminder, there will be changes starting Monday at the middle school.

The district mandate that requires anyone in the building to wear a mask will now become “mask flexible.” What this means is that each individual will make their own decision based on personal need and circumstances. “Mask flexible” also means that you can make different decisions throughout the day. You do not have to commit to one decision in the morning and stay with it. You might feel that some situations warrant a mask and others do not. So, please bring a mask on Monday so that you can exercise your own personal choice in the moment. If you are having difficulties in deciding, you should talk to a trusted adult, like your parents, counselors or teachers, who can help to guide you.

Because this decision is personal, no member of our community should feel pressured in their choices or put pressure on others. As a community of care, we will respect and support each other in what decisions are made. We don’t know what is in everyone’s backpack, and it is not our place to judge. Please show respect by not having peer pressure be a factor in these decisions.

Also, lunch routines will change next week, with a full return to the cafeteria. 8th grade will return first on Tuesday, 7th grade on Thursday and 6th grade a week from Monday. All grades will receive a tutorial prior to returning from our APs, that will clearly set expectations. With so many of us affected by this change, I will need you to listen and follow instructions as directed.  Also, we know that some of you might be really excited and some of you might be a bit nervous, but all the adults are here to make the process run smoothly. If you are feeling unsure about the change and need to speak to an adult, please see your counselors who can help you. If they are unavailable for some reason, please see an Assistant Principal or talk to a trusted adult.

In advance, thank you to everyone for your support. WMS is a community that cares about each other, and I look forward to the very best of us exhibiting this care next week. Let’s bring big, visible smiles back to WMS and continue to make this a friendly and welcoming environment to all who are here. I have faith in us, and I know we can.

Have a good day Everyone!!
