~Day 6

To all 6th graders interested in kicking off composting for our cafeteria, there will be a meeting after school on Tuesday Oct 18th from 2:30-3:00 with Mr. Rabinowitz in Room 329. Again, this is for 6th graders only. Come and be a part of our Composting Community.

Are you interested in the STEM field (science technology engineering and math)? Do you want to meet other people who share your STEM interests too? If so, come to the first Girls in STEM meeting on Tuesday October 18th after school in Ms. Gilbert’s room, 109. All students are welcome to attend.

STEM Week is October 17th-21st in Massachusetts.  We celebrate STEM Week in schools to boost the interest and awareness of all students to see themselves in STEM opportunities.

This week we will highlight individuals who have made a difference in STEM fields, in particular, in areas of sustainability. You’ll see those on the slideshows in the hallway. Each day we will give you an idea of one small step you can take to create a more sustainable world.

#1: Plastics won’t break down in our world for hundreds of years and cause excessive harm and pollution.  The best solution is for us to use less plastic.  One way to use less plastic is to use reusable water bottles instead of plastic drinking bottles.

Girls interested in playing hockey, there will be an informational meeting with Coach Campbell in the cafeteria on Tuesday October 18th at 2:45pm.

Picture day is on Wednesday October 19th, and please check out the lost & found items outside the Main Office.

Have a great day!
