Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating this weekend? Today is the Eastern Orthodox Christian observance of Good Friday and Sunday is the Eastern Orthodox Christian holiday of Easter. On Good Friday, also known as Great Friday or Holy Friday, some people spend time in church services and often fast on this day. It is the most important holiday in Eastern Orthodoxy as it notes the moment Jesus’ divinity was confirmed as he rose from the dead. There are students and staff at WMS who will be observing Good Friday and Easter this weekend. We wish all people at WMS observing these holidays a “thoughtful Good Friday” and a “happy Easter”.
