The Advocates for Neurodiversity (AFN) Club will not be meeting today, Wednesday, May 15th. The final meeting for this school year will be next week, Wednesday, May 22nd after school. Please come prepared to celebrate this year with some snacks and fun!
We are just one day away from the spring play, Eclipse! This is the last drama event of the year, and for our 8th graders, the last opportunity to be on stage or on crew at WMS. Please come support all of the amazing students working on this play! Performances are tomorrow, May 16th and Friday, May 17th both at 7:00 pm, and admission is free.
It’s BANNER TIME, grade 8! Time to submit drawings for consideration. Details are on the Main Office bulletin board.
We will be holding auditions on Wednesday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 23rd from 2:30 – 3:30 pm in the Auditorium for Grade 8 students who are interested in performing at the June 13th Completion Assembly. Please sign up in the Main Office for an audition slot. Come prepared to perform your song and/or musical instrument. If you have questions, see Ms. Connors or Mr. Adams.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating today? Today is the Buddhist holiday of Buddha’s Birthday. Buddha’s Birthday is a celebration of the life and enlightenment of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism. Buddha Day can be celebrated on different days dependent on the calendar being used and in various nations in East and Southeast Asia. Today’s date is based on the calendar used in South Korea and China (among other countries). There are students at WMS who will be observing Buddha’s Birthday today. We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday “health, happiness and peace.”
