The results of our 2024 WMS Presidential Election are in. This represents our student population within the school.
Vice President Harris received 524 votes to President Trump’s 146. This means that within our school at WMS, VP Harris was the winner. In percentages, that is 70.6% for Ms. Harris compared to 19.6% for Mr. Trump. Other candidates got 72 votes, or 9.7% of the total. Thanks for participating!
Today is a half day. Teachers will be in meetings so all students must leave the building at 11:21. There will be no Wellesley late bus. If you are a Boston student, you must return at 1:20 for the 1:30 departure (sharp). No students should be in the building without supervision determined in advance.
All students who are going into town today, please remember that you are representing yourself, your families, neighborhoods, and our school. You have been given the privilege of independence and you must show that you can manage it. Please be respectful to each other as well as to store employees, other shoppers, and clean up after yourselves, especially after you eat.
The Spirit Wear Store will be open at the Donizetti entrance from 11:20 until noon today.
At this point, I would also like to acknowledge the Presidential election last night. Within our building, some people are pleased with the results and others are not. Regardless, emotions might be running higher today than usual. I want to remind everyone about the importance of kindness, respect and empathy within our building. Please be mindful and sensitive to others as you go throughout your day. I appreciate your support on this effort.
