Our 8th Grade Chorus members will be singing with the High School Choirs at tonight’s Choral Step Up Concert! Come see our singers rock a 10 minute medley of songs from Wicked. The concert starts at 7 pm in the Wellesley High School Auditorium and it’s free!
There is a Faculty Meeting after school today. All students must plan to leave the building immediately at the 2:29 dismissal bell. There will be no afternoon activities and therefore no Boston or Wellesley late buses. There will be no 8th grade tutoring for students in the METCO program. The library will also be closed after school. If you are in the cast of the Drowsy Chaperone, you still have rehearsal after school in the Auditorium with your music director and must report directly there for the entire time. WMS Girls and Boys 8th grade basketball Team RED have games starting at 3:45 in Gym A and must be with your coaches upon return to the building. There should be no unsupervised students in the building after 2:40 pm this afternoon.
The answer to yesterday’s Black History Month trivia is: Charles B. Purvis was the first Black Doctor to attend to a US president. Today’s question is: What film, released in 2020, featured a predominantly Black American cast and told the story of a legendary recording session in 1927 Mississippi? If you think you know the answer, come down to the main office to make your guess. Stay tuned tomorrow for the answer and a fun fact.
Today’s Spirit Week theme is “Dress Like a Teacher, Teachers Dress Like Students”. Tomorrow’s theme for Spirit Week is Cozy Valentine’s Day (flannel pants/shirts, holiday themed pants/tops, fleeces! Dress code applies).
