8th grade students in Ms. Moore’s tutoring program, please report directly to the library after school today.

Tonight is opening night for The Drowsy Chaperone, Jr.!  If you haven’t already bought your tickets online, tickets can be purchased for $10 at the door.  All students without an adult chaperone should have purchased tickets in advance and will be seated in the student section. The show tonight is at 4:30, then three more shows – tomorrow at 7:00 and Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00.  To the cast and crew – Break a leg!

Attention 8th graders: We are looking for 8th grade tour guides for the 5th grade parent/guardian WMS orientation on Tuesday night, March 25th between 6:30-8:30 pm. It’s a great opportunity for you to welcome new families to WMS and share your experiences.  If you are interested, please come down to the main office and submit your name for consideration before school ends today.

Planning has begun for the annual WMS Mini Marathon in May. Part of the planning is creating t-shirts that students will wear during the run.

We are looking for a 6th and 7th grade design and an 8th grade design. The 8th grade t-shirts will also have all your names on the back and will be worn for the end of year activities.  Submissions must be an original design on 8 1⁄2” x 11” paper and dropped off at the Main Office by Friday, March 28th. Any questions, stop by the Main Office, or speak with your Art teacher.

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community are celebrating?  Today begins the Persian holiday of Nowruz.  Nowruz, or Persian New Year, is an ancient festival celebrating the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. The celebrations last for 13 days, and it’s an opportunity to reflect on the past and set intentions for the future. Persian New Year has been observed for more than 3,000 years in different regions, including the Balkans, Central Asia, and the Middle East.  We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, Happy New Year!

The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today.  The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.

Have a good day everyone!
