Congratulations to the 8th grade Chorus! Last night’s concert was moving and entertaining and we look forward to seeing you shine on the Wellesley High School stage next year!
Attention all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys: Come meet the Wellesley Varsity Boys Volleyball team and learn from them how to play volleyball! All skill levels are welcome including those just beginning! Today is the last session at Wellesley High School from 3:30-4:30.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating starting this weekend? Sunday evening begins the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. Shavuot is the Jewish festival that commemorates the receiving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. The word Shavuot literally means “weeks,” since it takes place exactly 7 weeks after Passover. On the eve of Shavuot, many Jews stay up all night studying Torah. The book of Ruth (from the Hebrew Bible) is traditionally read, and people celebrate by eating dairy foods such as cheesecake and blintzes. We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, “Chag Sameach.”
There will be no late bus to Boston today. All students riding to Boston need to take the 2:30 pm bus.
Have a good day everyone!
