The MCAS Civics makeup test is this morning in Room 204 right after announcements. Teachers were sent a list of students who need to attend.
On Saturday, 10 members of the 6th Grade Chorus sang in the Eastern District Treble Chorus, a group made up of 90 talented singers from the greater Boston area. They had been working hard after school all month with Ms. Connors to master the music and were fantastic ambassadors of Wellesley Middle School, showing great musicianship and kind leadership at the festival.
This will be the final week for clubs and intramurals after school.
All library books are due back to the library by Thursday, June 5th.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating this month? June is LGBTQ Pride Month. Pride began as a recognized day in 1970 in New York City, marking the one year anniversary of LGBT people resisting the raid and arrest of LGBT friends and family that occurred at the Stonewall Inn. This practice of arrest was not uncommon because being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender was not legally allowed in any way. Today, LGBTQ groups celebrate this special time with memorials for those lost as well as with celebrations and group gatherings culminating in a Pride Day parade in cities around the country and world. We wish all people at WMS observing this joyous occasion a “Happy Pride.”
The bus to Boston will leave at 3:30 today. The late bus in Wellesley also leaves at 3:30. All students need to listen for the PA announcements for their departure from WMS.
Have a good day everyone!
