Congratulations to the WMS Science Olympiad Team on their Third Place finish at the State Tournament this weekend! We are so proud of you! Thank you to Ms. Longley-Cook and Mr. Wachs for their leadership and to thanks to all the volunteers who attended and supported our students at the meet this weekend. There will be practice after school today in Room 252.
The next Girls in STEM meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7 after school in Ms. Gilbert’s Room, 109. This week we will be joined by Dr. Lees, Senior Vice President, Research and Early Development @ Bristol Myers Squibb. All are welcome.
The WMS Graphic Novel Book Club will be meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, March 7th during all 3 lunch periods in room 229. Please bring your previous month’s book to return and get the new book.
Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating? This evening starts the Jewish celebration of Purim. Purim celebrates the story of how Esther saved the Jews from the wicked Haman who wanted to kill the Jews in ancient Persia. People celebrate by reading the story of Esther, wearing costumes, and eating special triangular cookies called a hamantaschen which is shaped like Haman’s hat. There are students at WMS who will be observing this holiday. We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, Happy Holidays!
