~Day 3

Today is an early release day so the bells will be turned off and we will be calling the periods over the PA system.

7th graders: A reminder that your 8th grade course selection and level change forms are due in the counseling suite,  Room 312 today by the end of school at 11:21.

Are you curious about what some people in our WMS community will be celebrating tonight?  Tonight begins the Jewish holiday of Passover. Passover commemorates the Jewish peoples’ liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt and their freedom as a nation under the leadership of Moses. It is a joyous holiday celebrated for either 7 or 8 days. During this time, Jews gather to tell the story of the Exodus (leaving of Egypt) and share a meal, called a Seder, where most items eaten are symbolic of some occurrence in the Passover story. Thinking about and vowing to help people who are currently living with injustice is a part of many Jews’ Passover celebrations.  There are students at WMS who will be observing Passover this next week.  We wish all people at WMS observing this holiday, a “Happy Passover,” or “Chag Sameach (Samach).”

Have a good day everyone!
